Charles Barkley Too Soft Spoken???

I gotta give kudos to Charles Barkley for speaking up to the degree he did here. Shows he's a primary personality on like "Inside the NBA" and "Inside March Madness" stay far far away from politics and political issues as much as possible. In context, I appreciate him pushing that line here and speaking up for immigrants.
However, I gotta say, first: "c'mon Chuck, don't be so soft!" What I mean is that Barkley has historically been known for being outspoken amongst professional athletes. Him speaking his mind is what paved the way for his TV personality career after retiring from the NBA.
Second, though, what's really fuct up - #firstamendment - is that how the fuck is it controversial at all for him to say what he said? It's not. Why is it controversial to tell the truth today concerning the abuses of ICE against people and the abuse of people sticking up for immigrants by this regime?
In 1984 Chuck wouldn't have held his tongue and toed the line like he did here. Feels like 2026 is more "1984" than 1984 in America. Eh?

IF YOU'RE KIDNAPPING WOMEN AND CHILDREN--> THEN IT WAS NEVER ABOUT CRIMINALS
IF YOU'RE REFUSING TO GIVE THEM DUE PROCESS --> THEN IT WAS NEVER ABOUT THE CONSTITUTION
IF YOU'RE KIDNAPPING THEM FROM NEIGHBORHOODS, CHURCHES, AND SCHOOLS --> THEN IT WAS NEVER ABOUT THEM REFUSING OUR COMMUNITIES
IF YOU'RE SPENDING BILLIONS TO DO IT--> THEN IT WAS NEVER ABOUT THE ECONOMY
NO JUSTICE, NO PEACE.
ABOLISH ICE. ARREST THE REGIME.
