Do Corporate Fascist Technocrats Get to "Hack" the Law?

Recently we shared that Elon Musk (+ his PAC) was found guilty in Georgia of violations of election law for sending out prefilled ballots. Now, if we recall, another shady tactic he did during the last election - which I think is really fuct up but got no consequences - was his "buying" of votes. I realize I'm oversimplifying that situation, but that is what he did.

For reference, here's that story:

The fact that the buying votes ploy by EM's PAC wasn't held accountable goes to show that our courts have gotten way too academic to be effective enough anymore. It's obvious he was using money to try to buy votes, and everyone can see that such a tactic completely perverts the integrity of our election standards.

Now I suppose I don't think it should be "illegal" for a person to sell their vote. I do think, though, that it should be illegal for anyone to buy it.

Ok, all that info was background as it relates to this video. This video is from San Francisco. It is real. Watch it! This is what it looks like when billionaires try to buy signatures to keep themselves from having to pay taxes.

"Under California law, it is illegal to give money or other valuable consideration to another in exchange for their signature on an initiative petition," a spokesperson for the Secretary of State's office said in a statement Tuesday. "It is also a crime to circulate, sign and/or file those signed petitions with an election official any initiative petition that is known to include forged names. In California, the initiative process is an important part of our democracy and those who abuse our system will be held to accountable."

"Two of the campaigns are backed by billionaires known as Building a Better California and Californians for a More Transparent and Effective Government. The two are fighting a proposed billionaire's tax with a series of anti-tax measure."...

"While his video is just under two minutes long, Smith said he was in the area watching the scene for hours. He said none of the proposals were actually explained to the hundreds of people he saw come and go to sign the petitions."

Musk didn't get any sort of significant punishment for his shenanigans. Oh look, now other billionaires are trying to buy votes too. See how that works? We need to implement stiffer penalties against big money interests that try to buy votes.

We need to TAX THE RICH and equalize their impact down to their single individual votes in the political process. We must protect our rights from the money interests that want to buy them out from under us.

The People must take power back!
