Get the Money Out of Politics! Montana Has An Idea

We as a nation have huge "election integrity" issues these days. No, I'm not talking about some bullshit boogeyman voter fraud like the felon's "big lie" at all. What I am talking about is the role money - PAC money and corporate money - buy the parties and the politicians that serve the duopoly.

The other big "elections" issue is the more than a third of voters nationally who don't show up to vote at all, but that's a whole other topic.

We've got to find a way to remove money from the equation of our political process in a way that equalizes the power of candidates, such that ideas are what pull the votes not just dollars.

Unfortunately today well funded stupidity and corruption seems to attract votes more effectively than underfunded righteous individual Americans... but, remember that whole thing: "For the People, By the People"?

Corporations are not "the People" the Constitution and Declaration of Independence were talking about.

This video by Robert Reich gives some insights into this problem and looks at what Montana is doing to try and mitigate the problem. I think it's cool. It's nice to see Montana - or any state - endeavoring for solutions to the problem because the money interests usurping the People's power is a MASSIVE issue that needs to totally unfucked.

There may be better and/or more effective avenues of approach than what Montana is trying out now, but let's hope they're setting a trend to help us all get those solutions figured out.

Also, if you're not following Robert Reich you should be! No slack.
