No Room For Church in State

Anyone who tries to say America was founded to be a christian nation, or even a religious nation is factually wrong. Basic level research will reveal that our nation's founders explicitly stated that keeping the state free from religious influence or preference was fundamental to freedom. It's why the First Amendment in our bill or rights established freedom from religion.

For folks that like to argue that "god" is mentioned in the founding documents of our nation, I retort the obvious: that's anyone's god, whether it be the god of moses, or buddha, or money, or Haile Selassie, or psylocibin.

Here's a fact christians and christian nationalists can never get around folks, it's so obvious: You know who's not mentioned anywhere in the Constitution? Jesus. He's not mentioned there once. If we were a christian nation, wouldn't he be in there? Yeah. but we're not. So he's not.

Kudos to this woman in the clip below for speaking truth to power and standing up for the right to separation of church and state at the local level. Get the christian nationalist out of government at every level.

We should all support peoples right to be religious whether christian or muslim or even agnostic, or any practice in that regard we might choose as individuals, in keeping with the First Amendment right to freedom; however, none of us should support politicians who want to establish mechanisms of a religious state in America. Fuck that. No slack.
