Veterans Against Tyranny (VAT) as an organization exists to unite U.S. Veterans and the public at large in solving our nation’s toughest systemic problems.
We are an advocacy group ever endeavoring to serve the constitutional rights and interests of The People above all else.
Although VAT may provide some perks and benefits to the Veteran community in the due course of its operations, the organization does not exist primarily to “serve” Veterans at all. Very much the opposite.
The organization serves as an agency to unify as many of the voices (and voting power) of the 16+ million Veterans in America today as we can with our like minded Civil Corps - the non-veterans of our communities - for a total task force of constituency that can truly move the needle for positive change in America.
We, Veterans, are a fragmented herd of cats worth 7% of the popular vote.
We, VAT, are a “union” for Veterans, of sorts, working for The People to safeguard the rights of all Americans in whatever ways we can, with HONOR.
Understanding The Vision of Veterans Against Tyranny
Veterans Against Tyranny is more than just a membership organization; it is a movement aimed at protecting the freedoms that many of us have fought for in our lives. VAT was founded by Veterans who recognized the need for a collective voice against tyranny upon The People in America.
Veterans Against Tyranny serves the American public through our headquarters company, membership, and constituency, along (4) primary lines of effort (LOE):
Mustering the Boots: Building community and fostering shared understanding in America through information sharing, networking, thought leadership, public dialogue, and partnerships.
Organized Activism: Conducting and participating in coordinated efforts including but not limited to “feet in the street” protests, demonstrations, boycotts, ceremonies, and other public events at large scale – national and beyond - as much as we can manage to affect.
Righteous Legal “Combat”: Participate with and influence American legislation and governance by engaging (and challenging) the courts and our elected representatives on behalf of The People as a stewards of the Constitution.
Picking Up Our Battle Buddies: Doing stuff to support Veterans, the underserved, the vulnerable, and any mistreated peoples in America that we can help somehow in the course of our existence.
Our current "main effort" LOEs are mustering the boots and organizing activism. We are capabilities building. If you've ever been deployed, we, now, are in "torch party" phase, so to speak. We have our mission and we are setting conditions to welcome the task force main body so we can all get to work.
As we amass membership our capabilities will grow. In due course we will be a national HQ with outposts in every congressional district in the America.
THERE IS NO LIMIT TO WHAT WE CAN DO, UNITED.
Our shared understandings, values, and acknowledgements of fundamental truths and rights (which we all hold to be self-evident and guaranteed by our Constitution), alongside our willingness to take an Oath to serve the nation at some point in our lives, are the bonds that unite us as Veterans Against Tyranny.
It doesn’t matter what your rank was, it doesn’t matter how long you served, and we don’t judge the nature of your discharge.
If you have raised your hand, taken the Oath, and were a United States Service Member in the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard, and/or Space Force in your life at any time, you are qualified for lifetime membership with VAT, free of charge.
By joining VAT, whether you have served or not, you align yourself with a group and an organization that is committed to the principles of the same Oaths all our American Veteran sisters, brothers, and others took to serve this nation.
Benefits of Membership
Becoming a member of Veterans Against Tyranny comes with numerous benefits. Here are some of the key advantages:
Network: Connect with the rest of the constituency and membership! We're doing big things and this site serves as a CP or sorts.
Privacy: Ad Free, troll free discussion boards and member group pages!
Control: Your own profile page you can customize and/or keep private if you choose. Create groups and forums of your own accord for everyone or only specific audiences.
Perks: Members will receive exclusive access to educational materials, workshops, and events that focus on advocacy and civil rights as they are as developed. Plus access to discounts, promos, and coupons that become available.
Teamwork: Being part of VAT means you have a community that understands your experiences and can provide support when needed.
Influence: As a member, you have the opportunity to influence policy decisions and advocate for change on a larger scale. We are a member led organization. We are building a national network of boots on the ground doing good work for America. We're looking for Cadre in every district and thought leaders too, to help make decisions on the most impactful courses of action and problems to solve.
No Pressure: Participate as much or as little as you like with the constituency, events, and the organization. By being a member at all you help bring the power of numbers to VAT's voice, and if that's all you wanna do that is totally cool. Or you can do a lot, if you like. That's cool too!

How to Join Veterans Against Tyranny
Position improvement never stops! We've got a process in place, but we're striving to streamline as we continue to build.
Joining Veterans Against Tyranny is a straightforward process. There's really just three steps:
Step 1: Visit the Official Website and Set Up a Login
The first step at our site is to establish your initial account. You must first have an account on the site to enroll in membership.
(FYSA, without membership your account is basically just a store account)
Once you're on our site click the "Log In" button in the top banner of any page. That'll take you to the sign up screen. All you need to do is set up an email and a password and you're set. Complete the email confirmation and step 1 is complete.
Step 2: Pick the Plan that Fits Your Category
Go to our Membership Entry Processing Site (MEPS) to get sign up for a membership. There's three categories: Veteran Member, Civilian Corps (for U.S. based civilians), and International Partner (for non-U.S. based civilians who are not U.S. Veterans) accounts.
*It should go without saying but just so we're clear: do not select a membership that is not your correct category. This mistake could result in us permanently revoking your membership.
Veterans and Military Members:
You will be taken to a form to collect your name, email, and for you to upload proof of service verification. Once you complete that form you'll be take to "checkout" for your free membership. After that screen: boom! You're in. Welcome!

Civil Corps and International Partners:
You will be directed to fill out some information and to make your dues payment. Once you enter the information and complete the payment screen - boom! You're in. Welcome!

Step 3: Identity Verification
*We're working to partner with a third party in the future, but for now we're doing manual verifications of all members. Be advised: all members may be required to re-verify identity in the future when we set up the new system. (e.g. ID.me)
Veterans and Military Members:
Once we verify your service is legit we are trashing your service documents. We are not keeping your data. Again, our goal is to outsource this process in the future, but we must verify all Veteran member applicants are legit. So, for now, we're doing it this way.
Once you have been verified you will get an email letting you know you official member number and confirming your "full member" status.
Civil Corps and International Partners:
There is no qualification of your membership except for your wanting to partner with us (and paying your dues to become a member). However, we are screening all new member accounts and always on the lookout for fake profiles. Providing fake name or fake information regarding identity is grounds for immediate revocation of membership for anyone who untruthfully represents their identity for membership.
Once we have reviewed your profile you will get an email letting you know you official member number and confirming your "full member" status having been verified to the degree that we can check currently.
All Members:
Again, be advised, all members may be required to re-verify identity in the future when we set up the new system. (e.g. ID.me)
If at any time - whether during the membership verification, or later down the line - we have concern about the veracity of your identity and/or service record you access and membership may be paused for investigation and/or possible revocation.
Step 4: See you in the Trenches! (Engage with the Community)
After receiving confirmation, you can start engaging with the VAT community and access the member sections.
Join the members forums, attend meetings, participate in events, and connect with other members to fully benefit from your membership and to get involved!

P.S. Maybe Maybe Maybe (the Future!)
Right now is our first membership drive. What we are building has been organic and grass roots. I say that to say our first members will really be pioneers in helping to establish what the organization is capable of and effective at now in its first year of existence.
We look forward to sending our earliest members welcome packets and, eventually, free shirts, merch, or coupons for free stuff from our stores as part of your membership, but we don't have that stuff setup yet.
We'll get those perks in place soon. When we do, we'll remember to take care of folks in Member Number order.
Our first members will be the first ones to get the perks and benefits we gain for our constituents. No slack!
Responsible Membership Pledge
Truly, there are no "responsibilities" of membership at all. Only whatever you wanna do.
However, as an organization we do expect all of our constituents to be "responsible" members. Responsible for themselves and their behavior.
We expect all our members are here because they want to be here.
VAT reserves the right to cancel memberships at any time if it becomes clear that you are not a responsible member of our community.
Let's be clear, for the most part VAT does not give a fuck how you express yourself. For all members, be advised that you may encounter NSFW content and language here. Membership is extended to voting age adults only.
Our boards and member zones are meant to be permissive environment for frank and, to a degree, private conversations. Our space is meant to be excusive for our members.
Therefore, it is important to ensure all members are accountable to each other. Standards of conduct violations can result in suspension or permanent cancellation of membership.
This list is not all exhaustive, but here's some examples of things VAT will not tolerate:
Harassment and trolling: Teamwork make the dream work and we're a team. Do not harass, stalk, or troll other members. We have no time for that bullshit.
VATINO: VAT "in name only". Being fake or false about your identity and/or ideology is immediate revocation. We're on the lookout for the sheep that wanna come here and act like us wolves.
Bigotry, racism, hate speech: See the first two bullets again. Upholding the values of VAT is crucial. This includes respecting the diverse opinions of fellow members and promoting a positive environment.
Trust Violations: One of the biggest perks of being part of VAT is the comradery and trust in our membership. We expect members to use good discretion and be respectful of each others' expectations of privacy. If you wanna share something outside of VAT respect expectations of privacy some members may have. Don't "out" people who share private things here (unless they're doing the things in this section lol)
Illegal Shit: Do not use this space for illegal shit. You do that and we may very well get you nice and fucked up, legally, Just sayin. Don't fuck around! Else you find out.
That list is not all inclusive. VAT reserves the right to revoke memberships at anytime.
We don't want to ever do that., but we will.
We do our do diligence in the member verification process in order to minimize as many of these sorts of issues as we can.
