Key Task: Unite Women Across Generations in the Movement

Today I went to an awesome event. It really put wind in my sails. The event was hosted by Indivisible Sonoma and the topic was "Uniting Woman Across Generations Against maga." There was a panel of activist women across four generations who led some really great discussions.

The central focus was not just a look at the women's rights struggles of today, but also to tie them in with the lessons of the fight for women's rights through history.

The events main speaker was uplifting and inspiring it. Her name is Molly MacGregor. She was a co-founder of the National Women's History Project (now "Alliance") during the women's movement of the 70's. Jimmy Carter called her in 1980 to tell her that her initiative to establish National Women's History Week was approved and signed by him.

She did that! So cool.

The stories she shared of her experience fighting for women's right were really amazing. She gave me a lot of hope about our ability to achieve equal rights for all people in America in our lifetime yet. Yes, we can.

She also reminded us all of not just the women whose sacrifices we all know from history, but of the sacrifices of the women before them whose sacrifices have largely gone unrecognized... for sure under-recognized... in our history.

I got to meet Molly and she was a really firecracker, I tell ya.

She warmed my heart with encouraging words about Veterans Against Tyranny, and we shared in our assessment that the momentum today is on our side. And that the moment is ripe for the People to forge forward in the fight for equal rights and to take it all the way further than ever before in this country.

Hell, yes, Molly. Let's go!

I hope everyone had as inspirational of a Saturday as I did. No slack!

I encourage folks to check out the National Women's History Alliance (I'm a member now!):

I also encourage you to check out Indivisible if you're not familiar with them. There may be a local chapter in your area:

Oh, and of course, check us out too if you don't know us!

Here's my selfie with Molly and snips of some of the slides she shared which I hope you'll take a moment to learn about.
