America's problem with white supremacy today is the result of not rebuking it fully enough following the civil war
And then truly not finishing the job of eradicating it after the civil rights movement of the 1960s... the folks who marched before us then accomplished so much!
But systemic racism was never dealt with and that movement didn't accomplish full equal rights.
Well, here we are 60 years later. Its been one persons lifetime since then. This is our opportunity as a nation to reject white supremacy once again... and this time let's get it right and enact systemic changes that don't allow the cancer to hang around and grow back again...
... cause that's what's been happening these last 60 years.
This video is such a strong image. In the 60s in America MLKs non violent movement resulted in images that no one could argue with - violent whites beating peaceful blacks.
This video reminds me of the power of those images. Here a black man ushers a white supremacist to safety.
